“As I sit here, in my studio, I was reflecting on the lengthy path to this room, this office, this city and this wonderful profession of architecture. Five decades later, being in the same line, how is it possible to be still vitally interested, still keen to create, still keen to put dreams to reality,” muses Architect TM Thomas, the man who established his Architectural practice in the early 1970's.
 
By 1999, when his son Tilak Thomas joined the firm alongside him, Thomas Associates had already established itself as one of the most admired architectural practices in Bengaluru, building the skyline of the city.
 
Today, father and son have designed some of the most well-known buildings in South India, be it the UB City or the Kingfisher Tower, residential skyscrapers for some of the leading developers, large-scale Tech Parks and IT Campus for some of the big Technology firms or hospitality projects like Leela Palace Hotel and Residences, ITC Kohenur and Taj Vivanta to name a few. The firm has, over five decades, seen the transformation of the city from a quiet ‘pensioners paradise’ to the mega city it is today.
